Because we consistently reimagined jerky
Conventional jerky today is mostly a global industrial product. Beef from international supply chains in South America, Australia or Eastern Europe, processed far from its origin, optimized for shelf life and standardization. That's not wrong – but it's a long way off. Our approach is different.
Our jerky is made from local fish from Switzerland. Short distances, known origin, direct responsibility. We know where our raw material comes from, how it was kept and how it is processed. For us, origin is not a label, but proximity, control and trust.
The basis of our product is pure fillet. No leftovers and no pressed meat. While many conventional jerkies consist of functional cuts, we deliberately start with higher quality. Fillet is finely structured, uniform in construction and inherently valuable.
For us, value means:

Our jerky is processed by hand, in small batches. Gentle drying preserves the natural character of the fillet – its taste, texture, and nutrients. We don't shape anything, reconstruct anything, or cover anything up. We process what's there.

Many people who don't actually like fish love our Jerky. Not despite, but because of the product idea. Because here, it's not fish flavor that dominates, but fillet, texture, and BBQ. No typical fish note, no aftertaste – just pure enjoyment.
Because you don't want to eat garbage
From a nutritional perspective, we also take a deliberate approach. Our Jerky is a natural product, no bullshit, with 53% protein and low in salt. Other Jerky products only achieve about 35% protein and contain a lot of salt and carbohydrates from sugar, syrups or marinades, up to about 25%. Our Jerky is only 6.4% sugar – not because we had to leave anything out, but because we didn't want to add anything. For us, protein is not a marketing promise, but the result of our raw material selection.
Many Jerky products are optimized for maximum shelf life through the addition of additives and intensive preservation. We consciously accept a limited shelf life. Taste and texture take priority over eternity. We assume that a good product is bought, opened, and enjoyed – not stored for years. Shelf life is not a quality feature. Enjoyment is.
That's why we say: Better than Beef. Not as an attack, but as a decision.

Why does your jerky have less sugar than many others?
Because we don't need sugar to create flavor.
Many industrial jerky products use sugar for preservation and flavor balancing.
What does your jerky taste like?

How should I store the jerky?
Store in a dry place and consume soon after opening. You don't need to refrigerate it.

A clear YES! We want everyone to be able to consume our products, which is why all LocalFish products are gluten-free.
